Kelly Pedigree

John Kelly and Margaret Carroll
Our Kelly family is traceable back to John Kelly who was born Roscommon, Ireland 1809. He married Margaret Carroll in Ireland, the daughter of William Carroll and Ellen Mulhern. John Kelly and Margaret Carroll emigrated to Canada prior to 1834. John Kelly died in 1859 in Wilmington, Will County, Illinois. He is buried at Mount Carmel Cemetery.

As of 6 December 2005, the farthest back the Caroll family has been traced is to William and Ellen (Mulhern) Carroll. Here is the basic information on their family.
William Carroll married Ellen Mulhern in Ireland. They had the following children:
Martin Carroll. Born Ireland. Died at sea while traveling with his father. Buried Atlantic Ocean.
Eliza Carroll. Born Ireland. Became a nun.
Mamie Carroll. Born Ireland. Married John Corcoran.
Margaret Carroll. Born Ireland 1814.

William and his son Martin died while traveling to North America and were buried at sea in the Atlantic Ocean. Ellen Mulhern died in Ireland.
